Manual configuration is required if your ERA VA is not assigned an IP address by DHCP. In order to configure your ERA Virtual Appliance (VA) you must modify the ifcfg-eth0 configuration file to include specific settings for your environment. To do so, follow these instructions:
Press Enter on your keyboard to enter management mode. You will be prompted for your password. Type and press Enter to login.
Select Exit to terminal using the arrow keys and press Enter.
Type nano /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 as root in the terminal and press enter to open the ifcfg-eth0 file in the nano editor.
DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=static IPADDR=your_IP NETMASK=your_network_mask NM_CONTROLLED=no ONBOOT=yes TYPE=Ethernet IPV6INIT=no
DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=static IPADDR=10.0.0.10 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=10.0.0.138 NM_CONTROLLED=no ONBOOT=yes TYPE=Ethernet IPV6INIT=no
Press Ctrl+X to close nano editor. You will be prompted to save changes, press Y to save or N to discard changes. Press Ctrl+C to cancel if you want to make more changes.
Press Enter to confirm your changes and save them to ifcfg-eth0.
Type shutdown -r now in the root terminal to restart the appliance.
