How to set up a scheduled reboot on Windows Server 2012

From time to time, my server need to be restarted on a scheduled basis. To setup up a server reboot on Windows Server 2012, follow these steps:

Open Task Scheduler. Click on Task Scheduler Library. Right click then select “create basic task”.

Open Task Scheduler:

Click on Task Scheduler Library. Right click then select “Create Basic Task”.

Enter the task name and description and click on “next“.

Select the schedule or interval you want then click on “next“.

Choose a Start date and Start time.

Select “Start a Program” and click “Next“.

In command type C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe and for the arguments type “/r /t 0” then click on “Next“.

You’ve created a task to restart your Windows 2012 server. Now you can click on “Finish“.
